Archival Research

The world of archival research and genealogy can be confusing and time consuming, especially with family trees reaching across the country and across the centuries. These are some of the kinds of records within which I have experience finding genealogical and family history:

  • Church and bible records
  • Family histories
  • Letters and diaries
  • Voting lists
  • Tax and property records
  • Court, probate, and chancery records

Many families trace their roots back to Virginia, and so I am uniquely situated near all of the best resources that the Commonwealth and the country have to offer. If you are unable to make the journey to Central Virginia yourself, I am within an hour drive of these repositories:

  • Library of Virginia
  • Virginia Historical Society
  • University of Virginia
  • College of William & Mary
  • The Valentine
  • The American Civil War Center
  • Many Central Virginia circuit courts
